Location
Cumbria is one of the most beautiful and un-spoilt areas of the United Kingdom, home to Lake District National Park, Hadrian's Wall and the Solway Firth.
Carlisle, to the north of the county, was the last English town before the Scottish border in the days when the two countries were separate, and for the most part hostile, kingdoms. The city's importance as a military stronghold developed over many century's with Carlisle Castle, it's main fortification, still relatively intact. Having served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots, it now houses The King's Own Royal Border Regiment.
Set within a conservation area of Carlisle, Cornerways Guest House is a Grade II listed building offering a perfect base for you to explore the history and sheer beauty of Cumbria and Southern Scotland.
